Grants & Loans
The Gun Barrel City Economic Development Corporation has the ability to provide incentives in the form of loans, grants, and consulting to all different types of businesses locating in or expanding in Gun Barrel City. Our aim is to provide as many opportunities as possible for promising business ventures to find their success in Gun Barrel City so as to bring about positive community impact.
Grant Program Information
Grants are funded by a 0.25% city sales tax and are granted on a case by case basis, as an incentive for business startup, relocation, or expansion. Criteria include jobs created; risk profile; business history and outlook. Contact us today to review your business plan with our board members.
The Façade Program
The Façade Program is designed to help business and property owners improve the "curb appeal" of their property. The program encourages exterior building renovation and rehabilitation by providing up to $5000 in matching funds for items such as:
- Removal or replacement of weathered or outdated exterior finishes
- Door and window replacement or repair
- Exterior cleaning
The EDC reviews applications and approves funding for applicants who qualify, up to our yearly budgeted maximum. Funds are available for new improvements (that is, they will not be paid out for improvements that were made prior to application and approval). For more information and for an application, contact the GBC EDC.
If interior renovation and remodeling is a need for your business, our new redevelopment grant may be for you. This assistance is up to $25,000 for updating older buildings, converting them to an alternate use, or any other substantial interior work.
Low-Interest Loan Assistance
For larger projects, the Gun Barrel City EDC offers a low-interest loan as low as 2.0% interest. This involves an especially rigorous process to ensure the security of public funds, but it is the only EDC program that can approach $100,000 or more in financial aid.
